Dear participants of the program Management Challenges in Health Social Organizations

On Wednesday, 16 September took place the first planned activity on the agenda. We performed the formal opening of the program and introduction of participants. The later activity was focused on the development of the first part of Module 1, whose theme is ¨ ¨ Organizational Strategies and Planning. It had the excellent presentation by Raul Zavalía, complemented by an active exchange with the group.

As is our custom we are sending the presentation (PPT file) of the teacher where they can further analyze the concepts developed. Those who could not be in this first meeting will take a snapshot of the topics covered, including access to the supplementary references suggested by the exhibitor at the next meeting where they were given a folder. We hope that if they need any other information let us know.

On the next scheduled program activity that takes place on Wednesday 23 September at the University Campus, Vito Dumas 284 Victoria, between the hours of 18.00 pm 09hs. This meeting will be held the second part of Module 1 and Module 2 will start on Organizational Strategy and Planning with Professor Lidia Arrausi.

BET TO PROGRESS

       On Friday September 4 Day took place on the latest developments and discoveries in the Treatment of Cancer in Montevideo and Chamber Hall of the Legislature Jauretche City Government of Buenos Aires. Bet Foundation of Life, together with the Ombudsman of the City and the Chair of the Human Rights Commission of the Legislature of Buenos Aires, were the organizers of the event, which addressed the findings of the World Congress Oncology (ASCO).

With around 300 people, including physicians, patients, delegations of Concepción del Uruguay, Brandsen and Lomas de Zamora, Buenos Aires people and Pacheco, was kicked off the event by reading the letter from Deputy Juan Cabandié, president of the Human Rights Commission of the Legislature, who thanked the foundation for their hard work achieved over the years.

The central table was composed of Mrs. Graciela Lois, Director of Community Relations of the Ombudsman of the City, Professor Adriana Zerdin, human rights secretary, who commended the foundation for the tasks they have carried out and welcomed the involvement they had with her. The Sara King, vice president of the foundation Bet to life, briefly recounted his testimony to combat the disease and that with some beautiful words of hope and confidence ended his speech with "the cancer is curable." Finally Dr. Silvia Garsd, psycho-oncologist and president of the foundation, who gave a concise speech where he explained the operation of the foundation and the tasks performed there. And Bet said to Life is a health project nothing improvised. A scientific model of work, which is containment, reflection and change, which works with health and not illness.

He joined the board invited the doctors who carried out the act: Dr. Maria del Carmen Virginia Ardaiz, Event Coordinator and Head of the Hematology Division of Acute Hospital Dr J. M. Ramos Mejia, Dr. Mario Bruno, Chief of Oncology at the Hospita Alvarez, Dr. Emilio Batagelj, Military Medical Hospital, and Dr. Raul Giglio, Plant Health Service Oncology Clinic of the Institute of Oncology Angel H . Roffo. They explained the different therapeutic novelties, displaying a very detailed analysis of new treatments and medicines in the various areas of oncology (breast, lung, colon, prostate, head, neck cancer and liquid)

Where to put the four specialists emphasize that we are experiencing a new era, where individualization of treatment and new fast-acting drugs, improve the quality of life of the cancer patient and confirms what was said before, cancer is curable. After the presentation, the doctors answered questions from the audience and were awarded diplomas by the participation and collaboration with the foundation.

Finally he closed the event with a strong and forceful "if".

We thank Roche Laboratories, Merck and Novartis, the experts invited to the physicians, patients and all the people who attended the event and continues to work with the foundation to Life Bet until today.
